Covid-19 Update

As we continue to hear about an increase in coronavirus cases throughout North Carolina, we wanted to let you know of additional precautionary measures that we are taking as we continue to adapt to the changing environment. Starting Sunday, August 2nd, we will be providing a “Masks Required” designated seating area in the back of the worship center. This seating area is intended for those who desire to wear masks throughout the service and prefer to be seated only with others wearing masks. Of course, this does not mean that if you wear a mask you are required to sit in this area. It is only meant to provide a safe space for those who prefer not to be seated near others who are not masked. We simply want to provide this option out of love and respect for our church family and guests as we understand there are differing needs at this time. In addition to this new accommodation, we wanted to remind you of the precautionary measures that we have already put in place since our re-opening:

  • Rather than having 1 service that would accommodate the attendance numbers we have been seeing which would be allowed under CDC guidelines based on the capacity of our worship center, we have chosen to keep 2 spaced apart services at 9 AM and 11 AM. The two services allow for even greater social distancing and safety measures.
  • We encourage and provide masks in our Welcome area and worship center and ensure that all of our greeters and Encounter Volunteers wear masks.
  • We have instituted a QR Code for our communications which removes the need for hand to hand contact. Through this code, you can fill out a Connection Card, Prayer Request, give on-line, or access our website.
  • There are no-touch hand sanitizers throughout the facility and, for those that prefer to not give on-line, there are separate baskets in the back of the Worship Center.
  • The worship center, bathrooms and all common areas are sanitized following each service and throughout the week. This is a challenging time for all of us and we want to provide a safe and welcoming place for all of our people to worship. We of course continue to provide our on-line option as we understand that there are those for which this is not the time for them to return to in-person worship. We respect everyone’s individual needs and simply want to provide options for all of our people to participate in worship in whatever way is most comfortable for them.
